PLAYGROUPS

The Neonatal Trust (Auckland) runs two regular Developmental Care Playgroups for different age groups.

These gatherings are a place where mothers with similar experiences can talk together over a coffee to share problems, get advice and simply feel understood - something that often cannot be gained from other coffee groups full of full term babies.

Our Playgroups are an opportunity, free of charge, to meet with a professional developmental therapist and ask all the "stupid" (not!) questions. Your baby/babies can be observed in a quiet, healthy environment and you can get practical advice on everything from sleeping and feeding to gross and fine motor skill development, social skills, language development, etc.

We run playgroups at the hospital for the babies twice a month. For the older children we run one session a month at a convenient location in the city.
